UMDF provides the research community the opportunity to share abstracts of their projects during the Mitochondrial Medicine Conference. Abstracts should highlight major aims of your research project so Conference attendees can quickly understand the purpose and final conclusion of your work.
All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the Abstract Review Committee. Approximately 20 abstracts will be selected for oral presentations during select platforms. All approved submissions will have the opportunity to share their projects during the dedicated poster sessions.

- Nuclear Gene Therapy
- mtDNA-Targeted Therapeutics

- Leigh Syndrome
- Masterclass focused on MELAS (POSTER ONLY)
Cash awards will be presented to winners during the meeting for the top four abstract presentations.
Poster dimensions should fall between 3.5 feet high by 3 feet wide (portrait oriented).
REMINDER: Submitting an abstract does NOT include registration to attend the meeting.

Beginning on December 2, 2025, Call for Abstracts will open for presentation at Mitochondrial Medicine 2026 in Orlando, FL USA, June 17-June 20, 2026. All submissions will be peer reviewed – a small number of submissions will be selected for oral presentation. Please direct all inquiries to abstracts@umdf.org. NOTE: Abstracts may be published post meeting – please indicate your publication preference at the bottom of the Application Form when submitting. If there is no response to preference on the application form, you have given the UMDF permission to publish.
